The Gartner Magic Quadrant is considered by many as the Holy Grail in the IT world when it comes to ranking hardware, software and services providers. It is a series of market research reports published by industry analyst group, Gartner. The Magic Quadrant ranks companies in two areas: completeness of vision and ability to execute. The vendors are then positioned in the four squares of the quadrant based on their scores. The quadrants include: Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries, and Niche Players.
